❄️ SnowClear
Privacy Policy
Last updated: February 2026
What we collect
SnowClear is designed to collect as little as possible. No account, name, or email is required to use the app.
- An anonymous user ID generated by Firebase Authentication (random, not tied to your identity)
- Location of the road condition you report (only when you explicitly submit a report)
- Road status you select and any optional note you add
- Basic usage metrics via Firebase Analytics (page views, session counts)
What we don't collect
- Your name, email address, or any contact information
- Your location passively — we only record the pin you place when you submit
- Device identifiers, browsing history, or cross-site tracking data
How reports are stored
All reports you submit are stored in Firebase Firestore and are visible to all users of the app. Do not include personal information in report notes.
Reports are automatically hidden from the map after 24 hours.
Data sharing
We do not sell your data, run advertising, or share data with third parties for marketing purposes.
Data is processed by Google Firebase under their privacy policy. Firebase Analytics data is aggregated and anonymized.
